Mysterious Forest Art Park in Kirovsk — photo report on the first visit

Due to the cosmic prices and pandemonium in Krasnaya Polyana and as a result of the multiple increase in prices for holidays there, we decided to go for a ride in the Murmansk region in Kirovsk on the slopes of the resort “Bolshoy Woodyavr“..

However, I will write a separate post about skating, and in this I wanted to tell you about a place called the “Mysterious Forest”, which stretches near the city.

To be honest, we learned about this place by accident from the driver who took us from the airport to our place of rest. He said that there are two popular tourist spots here – the art park “Mysterious Forest” and “Snow Village”, but explained about the latter that it is not as interesting as the forest.

Therefore, we decided to visit the art park, and if later we get the time during the rest and want to, then we will stop by the Snow Village.

The mysterious forest is located 12 kilometers from the center of Kirovsk. We went there by taxi at 19 o’clock – it cost 270 rubles one way, 350 rubles back.

Two taxi services are popular in Kirovsk – Yandex (via the app) and Fortuna (by phone +7 921 040-07-08). Both mostly have a fairly old fleet of cars (they managed to ride on the old 12-k, on the killed Kalina, and renoshki), and drivers who are not always adequate in terms of safe driving (they chat on the phone while driving, dangerously overtake on a snowy road and go into turns without reducing their speed). Fortune has fixed prices, while Yandex has dynamic ones – this means that the same trip can cost both 200 rubles and 600 rubles. Personally, I was not satisfied with this divorce from Yandex, so in the moments of greed of the Moscow monopolist, we used Fortune.

10 minutes later we were already at the main entrance to the park. There is a ticket office where you need to buy a ticket – 600 rubles for an adult, 300 rubles for a child from 5 to 14 years old, for children under 5 years old and pensioners – free of charge. We bought these tickets and went inside.

We were greeted by a snow-covered forest with hundreds of colorful lights and unusual musical accompaniment, which does not hurt the ear in any way, but on the contrary adds some kind of mystery to everything that is happening.

After going up the stairs, we got into the thicket of the forest, where, in fact, this mystery takes place.

There is no specific route here, we walked around the park from left to right, while most of the guests do it the other way around. There were not many visitors, since our visit fell on a weekday and the eighth hour of the evening. Thanks to this, it was possible to take photos without interference.

Of course, it will be problematic for visitors with disabilities and heels here, the fact is that the territory of the Mysterious Forest stretches over 3 hectares and is a dense forest with an abundance of descents and ascents, stairs and gentrified paths, with a length of about 1200 meters.

The time of the visit did not fly by noticeably, it was not that we were tired and wanted to finish quickly, on the contrary, we did not want to leave. The winter northern nature combined with unusual musical accompaniment was really fascinating.

Most of all I liked this pyramid. I walked around it from different sides and took a huge number of wonderful photos.

For lovers of activities and just those who want to warm up in the cold, I advise you to test the slide with cheesecakes (skiing is included in the price of the visit).

And there is also a cafe where you can drink hot tea or coffee, taste homemade pancakes (150 rubles for three delicious pancakes) and pies (100 rubles), as well as warm up and buy souvenirs.

The creators of the park really managed to combine the natural beauty of the northern region here with the magical illumination of the winter forest, interesting, sometimes frightening sculptures and other unusual art objects.

I advise you to come here in the dark and stock up on free time. The tour of the park took about 2 hours, although it was very cold. Dress warmly and comfortably, be sure to take a good camera for night shooting and a powerbank for charging to take many beautiful photos for memory.
