In the village of Staroe Arakchino there is one of the most amazing “new buildings” of Tatarstan – the Universal Temple or, as it is also called, the Temple of All Religions.

The Temple of All Religions is an architectural complex built by Ildar Khanov on his land and at his own expense. The whole village knew Ildar as a talented artist, architect, sculptor and even a healer. Unfortunately, Ildar Khanov will never see his creation finished, as he died in February 2013.

The author of the complex visited Tibet and India, after which he became seriously interested in Eastern religions and philosophy.

The construction of the Temple of All Religions began in 1994. According to Ildar, this complex was supposed to become an architectural symbol of religions, peoples and cultures.

Ultimately, the temple complex should consist of 16 domes, symbolizing the most popular religions of the world. The construction and expansion of the complex continues to this day.

Access here is free and is based on a charitable donation with an irregular amount. In all respects, this place fits more into the category of a museum museum.
