Tours to Samara usually include pleasant walks along picturesque streets, educational excursions, historical monuments and visits to the local brewery.

There is some kind of comfortable homely atmosphere in Samara, which disposes to a leisurely acquaintance with the city. First of all, I want to walk along the Volga, admire the view of the river and the sights. The embankment is the face of the city. Due to its location, you can see the water surface from different areas.

Samara embankment is one of the most popular, located near the river station. On the way you will meet the famous monument to Boatmen on the Volga based on the painting of the same name by the artist I. Repin.

Strukovsky Garden is located next to the Gorky Theater. The cozy park is perfect for family holidays. Between the well-groomed paths there are cute sculptures of bunnies “It’s not scary together”, “Owls” on a wooden bench, “Good and Evil”, as well as a “Time Capsule”.

The legendary Zhiguli brewery used to hold guided tours with tasting and historical information about the origin and manufacture of the foam drink. Unfortunately, they are temporarily suspended at the moment. But you can explore the historic building from the outside and try drinks at Wakano’s restaurant or at the bar at the bottom.

The Church of the Heart of Jesus is an incredible structure that impresses with its architecture and history. The temple was built in the early 19th century by the Samara Catholic community, most of which were Poles.

At first, the church was made of wood, and in 1906 it completely acquired its current appearance. The Polish church survived the war, looting, closure, and it resumed its work only in 1996. Now the Neo-Gothic temple, unusual for Samara, attracts tourists from different regions.

There are many more interesting places in Samara. To visit them all, it is better to come to the city for a few days. The most favorable periods for a trip to Samara are May, August and September.
