Amsterdam, Netherlands
Amsterdam, which already has the highest tourism tax in Europe, plans to raise tariffs again in 2024. The city will increase the tax on hotel rooms from 7% to 12.5%, and will also raise the tariff for cruise ship passengers from 8 euros to 11 euros per person per day.

Barcelona and Valencia, Spain
From April 2024, the tourist tax in Barcelona will be increased from 2.75 euros per night to 3.25 euros. In Valencia, the tour fee now ranges from 50 cents to 2 euros per night.
Venice, Italy
In 2024, tourists visiting Venice will have to pay 5 euros as the city continues to struggle with mass tourism. The collection will apply to persons over the age of 14 and will be carried out using a digital portal with the ability to download a QR code.

Denmark
Denmark will introduce a “passenger tax” for flights in 2025. The fee for air travelers will be approximately 8.4 euros for flights in Europe, 32 euros for medium-haul flights and 51 euros for long-distance political routes by 2030. The funds raised are planned to be used to support the introduction of eco-fuel on domestic flights.

- Portugal: 13 municipalities – 2 euros per night at the hotel.
- Slovenia: All destinations – 3 euros.
