Tourists will need to register on the website and pass identification
Starting in January 2024, Kenya will become a visa-free country for tourists from all over the world, including Russia. This statement was made by the President of the Republic, William Ruto.
It should be noted that the state has come to this decision gradually. Since December, citizens of any country on the African continent can enter Kenya without visas. The Government of the republic liked this practice so much that they decided to continue it and extend it literally to the entire political map of the world.
“As president of this extraordinary country, it is with great pleasure that I make the historic announcement of the government’s decision. From January 2024, Kenya will become completely visa–free,” William Ruto said. Now Russians need to apply for a paid electronic visa to enter the country.
However, it still won’t work to just come. Before traveling to Kenya, tourists will need to register on a special website and complete identification. After that, they will receive official permission to cross the border. The web platform is currently under development, but will soon be available for travelers to log in.
